been hooked this manga Chocolat [ショコラ] (no not the novel nor movie) by Kubonouchi Eisaku 窪之内英策,
whose works i equally hooked to.
story is abt Katou Ichigo, being released fr a 5 year n half jailterm, returns to get together with his mafia boss Omugi.. only to find that Omugi had changed.
Not only Omugi defunct his mafia group, he even starts to open an pastry shop n being the chef. shocked n in disbelif, Katou keep telling himself its just a joke
fr his boss n soon all will b back to normal.
to add to the twist, Tatsumi, a 16 year-old highschool girl appeared, identified as Omugi's wife daughter.
Katou, from that moment on, realized that everything has changed, n everything has a reason n meaning behind them.
Omugi opening the pastry shop to fulfill the unfulfilled dream of his deceased wife,
Tatsumi was abandoned by her biological father due to debts..
as the story carries on, Omugi, Katou, Tatsumi realized that, all in this world r living between "loving", and "being loved".
read finish the series in 3 days! really love it, the drawings, the story, the characters, the twist, everything!
basically, i just like Kubonouchi Eisaku works. he's a rare talent in japan's manga field, its only when u pay attention
n follow the stories then u realised tat manga can be written in such a way.
really recommend not only Chocolat, but all his works.. currently i can't find the english version..
